Lesra was called to the BC bar in 1999. Of his eight siblings, Lesra is the only one with a high school diploma. He graduated as an Ontario scholar and then went on to receive an Honours B.A. from the University of Toronto in 1988 and his law degree from Dalhousie Law School.


Given his distinguished notoriety with his involvement in the freeing of Rubin “Hurricane” Carter, as well as being a published author of the book The Power of a Promise, Lesra has done a remarkable job of putting Kamloops on the map.


As a one-time prosecutor, he is no stranger to a fight. He has perseverance and a “never quit” attitude. He is a civil litigator, and if you are an innocent victim of an accident, you want him in your corner.

Cheryl was called to the BC Bar in 1999. She practices primarily in the areas of wills and estates, real estate and adult guardianship law. As managing partner at Martin & Martin Lawyers, she thoroughly enjoys working with first-time home buyers and families as they plan toward their futures and the security of their families. She takes great pride in guiding them through the purchase of their first home to attaining “peace of mind” with their respective estate planning needs.


Coming from a large East Coast family, and being a wife and mother, Cheryl relates to many situations and circumstances that bring people into her office. She enjoys all aspects of building a solid relationship with her clients in a respectful and confidential environment.

Charlene was called to the BC Bar in 1999. Before joining Martin & Martin Lawyers in Kamloops, she practised in Vancouver, primarily in the areas of family and child protection law. Charlene has argued cases at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada.


Although comfortable in court, and a strong advocate for her clients, Charlene encourages settlement through negotiation and mediation. She enjoys helping her clients achieve a resolution that enables them to move forward in a constructive way.

Jacqueline is a family lawyer at Martin & Martin Lawyers. She brings excellent practical knowledge to our family law department.


Jacqueline is from the community of Vanderhoof which sits in the heart of British Columbia. She attended the University of Northern British Columbia and graduated in 2004 with her Bachelor of Arts. Jacqueline was accepted and attended the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with her Juris Doctor in Law in 2008


Jacqueline was called to the Bar of British Columbia in October 2011. She began her career as a Crown Prosecutor with the Attorney General of BC. In that position, she was exposed to a variety of legal issues that developed her legal experience and helped shape her skills at conducting trials.


Relocating with her husband and their children, Jacqueline is now enjoying the beauty of Kamloops and appreciates our sense of community.
